Career Description

During the first years of career, it focuses on acquiring knowledge about the anatomical-functional and molecular organization of the human body, its physiology and physiopathological processes. After this, it focuses on the recognition of the signs and symptoms of the human body in the presence of nosologic entities and their corresponding medical intervention.

Then initiates the integration and application of medical, clinical and surgical skills. All the knowledge is acquired more easily because of the library with which the university has a lot of updated texts, in physical and digital version, as well as the access to thousands of scientific journals and data bases of high Prestige.

All the skills are applied through the modern simulation platform, which is a clinic with all the equipment and tools necessary for the development of medical scenarios that improve the performance of the skills acquired by the Students. The medical career has important agreements with hospitals in and out of the country where students can do their internship rotations.

The faculty stimulates the research and scientific production of its students, so it has a program that integrates them in the activities of research projects financed by the University through an annual call with a strict Evaluation of the proposals. The bonding component is immersed in several courses of the race as well as its largest component represented by the year of internship.

Exit Profile

The graduate of the medical career will be able to:

  • to guide and refer the patient to the second or third level of complexity when the ability to intervene or care at the previous level has been exceeded.
  • attend to the effective, emotional and behavioral aspects related to their health condition to care for the physical and mental integrity of the patient, considering their age, sex, membership, ethnicity, culture, religion, etc.
  • use a clear and comprehensible language with their patients, families, community in benefit of understanding their intervention in the integral field of health.
  • apply and implement public and community health strategies.
