Straddling the Equator on the northwest coast of South America, Ecuador

QUITO, Luz de America
The capital of Ecuador lies on the slopes of the volcano Pichincha and beneath a line of volcanoes that rise up into the blue Andean sky. The equator is but a few kilometers to the north. The city is on the the same site as the ancient capital of the Shyris. Quito is the jewel of the Andes,
full of art and history. UNESCO declared it part of the Cultural Heritage of Mankind in 1978.

GUAYAQUIL, Perla del Pacifico
The site of the UEES is Samborondón, a satellite community of Guayaquil,
Ecuador’s largest city. The University grounds are located on a large campus in a residential neighborhood.

The UEES is committed to the development of Samborondón and Guayaquil, a bustling urban center with more than 2,500,000 inhabitants, and coastal Ecuador,
the delicate ecological setting that surrounds the city. In addition, Guayaquil is the hub of an active import – export industry and serves as the financial center of Ecuador. The desert, the mangrove swamps, and tropical dry forest which border the city, form part of an area which, in recent years, has become increasingly agricultural. An emerging tourist industry, in turn, promises to develop in the region, which is actively involved in the restoration of cultural and ecological sites.

Islas Galápagos
These incredible islands harbor the rarest of species known.
Blue-footed boobies, flightless cormorants, land and marine iguanas and Galapagos tortoises roam freely as they did thousands of years ago.
The Pacific Ocean´s legendary Galapagos Islands were called “a Separate Center of Creation” by Charles Darwin, and this group of 13 major islands and dozens of smaller islets and rocks – all the result of volcanic activity
– certainly appear to be out of this world. The Galápagos Islands are an unpredictable wilderness filled with an extraordinary population of unique species, which have developed apart from those of other parts of the world.

Cuenca, Atenas del Ecuador
Located in Andean Mountains and known as the Athens of Ecuador, Cuenca is Ecuador’s third largest city. In addition to ethnic diversity, Cuenca offers beauty, quaintness, and tranquility. The influence of the Incas and the Cañari Indians is evident in the customs of Cuenca’s people. UNESCO has declared the city of Cuenca World Cultural Heritage.
