The World University Center has two functions. 

1) It offers students from Ecuador and around the world classes sponsored by UEES international affiliates. These courses not only use the syllabi, methods, and resources of UEES international partners, they are taught by highly qualified faculty selected and approved by the latter. Many of these courses are taught on UEES' campus, and may be transferred to UEES to satisfy their local degree requirements. Other courses are offered in a distance learning format. Currently, the World University Center offers distance learning classes of Southern New Hampshire University.

2) The WUC oversees developmental projects that UEES and its international affiliates have undertaken. At present, WUC has contracts with two Canadian colleges, College of the Rockies and Niagara College to strengthen sustainable tourism and natural resources in coastal Ecuador. UEES also has a working relationship  with Georgia Institute of Technology to develop an  urban management plan for the Municipality of Samborondon.
